Removing air or gas bubbles convected by the flow in a hydrodynamic tunnel or high velocity pipeline.

We provide high efficiency separators using coalescence and decantation phenomena. Such device can be fitted up inside the resorber volume of the cavitation tunnel or in an additional downstream tank.

The dimensions depend on the flow and on the quantity of air that has to be removed. For example, CERG has developed the air removing device for the GTH (French Defence cavitation tunnel), installed in the downstream tank, 25 m long, for a 40 m³/s flow.

Such bubble separator will allow :

• reduce the duration to obtain air-free running,
• inject air during tests,
• accept small air leakage,
• reduce air bubble circulation during cavitation tests

In addition, it is well known that the presence of air bubbles in water modifies the propagation of sound waves and increases the absorption of such waves. With degassed water by using our devices, you will be able to perform acoustic tests and measurements without difficulties.
